J C has been at the forefront of world-class illusion entertainment in Asia for the past 12 years. 

As an international performer, J C has staged over 3000 shows across Asia Pacific as well as in the Middle East, France and the US. 

In 2012, J C, along with Ning, was awarded the "Patrons of Magic" award by the International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 115 for her unparalleled contributions to the Singapore magic scene. The same year, J C was also voted with Ning as "Best TV/ Stage Magician" by the readers of About.com, the largest website in the world.

In 2011, J C was presented a “Special Recognition Award for Contributions to the Arts & Media Community” from the School of Film & Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic at the M:idea Youth Awards 2011.

In 2009, J C was the first Singapore illusionist in history to be awarded the coveted Merlin Award for "Most Original Illusionist of the Year" by the International Magicians Society.

J C is also a recipient of a 'Master of Magic' award from the International Festival of Magic (Bangladesh) and the winner of 2 International Brotherhood of Magicians (U.S.A) 'Linking Ring' magic awards.

J C is also the most original prolific illusion designer and writer in the region. His wealth of experience, expansive knowledge base and sheer illusion creativity makes him the 'go-to' individual when it comes to designing magic in Asia.

He has designed over 50 original illusions for his shows and special events throughout Asia.

J C has also written numerous original books on theatrical illusion for the magic community. The books have been sold in over 50 countries and have received international critical acclaim.

 

As a respected creative professional in the arts & media industries, J C often shares his views in interviews, articles and talks. 

In Mar 2011, he was the closing speaker for TEDxNTU where gave a talk entitled “Behind the Magic: The Value of Being Different”.
